5 Incredible Skydiving Spots Around the World

After hiking and scuba diving, we will end up our bucket list adventures with an ultimate activity :  Skydiving.

An experience that everyone needs to try at least once in their lives. Travels are great occasions to concretize it but don’t wait to travel to go for it. There is surely a splendid skydiving spot waiting for you at home.

There is nothing like skydiving. You fly in the airplane, you go up and up until, at some point, somebody opens the door. And at that moment, you realize that you’ve never been in a frigging airplane with the door open. And here it comes, you jump off, you fall out of the airplane and, in one second, it becomes the most blissful experience of your life.

You’re just flying and there’s zero fear. The point of maximum danger is actually the point of minimum fear. That’s for this sensation that we both want to do it again !

That’s exactly why we will share with you today our own skydiving experiences, plus 3 other spots, that we would absolutely love to experience in our travels to come.

Will Smith once said : “God placed the best things in life on the other side of terror.

We think skydiving is an accurate example.

↠ Wanaka, New Zealand

Skydiving was on my bucket list for years and when I was traveling in New Zealand, I heard plenty of good feedbacks about Wanaka, in the south island.

I went with  Skydive Wanaka and they were amazing, I highly recommend them.

My instructor was so cool and we had a lot of fun, which helped to break the anxiety of the first jump. He told me that he was working as a skydiving instructor for almost 10 years and that he has been able to travel in dozen of countries, chasing job opportunities as an instructor.  South Asia, North & Central America, Australia… He was telling me about all these amazing places but concluded saying that Wanaka was his favorite spot, by far.

Indeed, while you are jumping, as far as the eye can see, you will admire a multitude of glaciers. And in the middle of this white frozen expanse, the blue of Wanaka and Queenstown lakes creates a fantastic contrast. It’s mind-blowing.

Here’s a video of this amazing experience, the quality isn’t the best, but the memories are.

↠ Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Change of continent for this other skydiving spot : Beautiful Africa, but we will bring you more especially to Zimbabwe.

There are many reasons why we want to travel in this country and one of them is for its Victoria Falls. Besides being one of the Seven Natural Wonders, it’s also the largest waterfall in the world, in the wet season. The African tribes in the surroundings call it “Mosi-oa-Tunya”, which means “Smoke that thunders”.

Now that we put you in the context, does being dropped in the sky in such a spectacular spot sound good to you ? It looks like the thrill of a lifetime.

If you are looking for a good company to try the experience, check Skydive Tandem Company – Victoria Falls on google (they don’t have their own website).

↠ Interlaken, Switzerland

Mountains are impressive natural elements. Pure, majestic, breathtaking… A powerful expression of nature.

Those giants have their own shade of colors and unique shapes.

In our opinions, mountainous backdrops provide the best sensations when you skydive. It’s a kind reminder than you are so small in this immense world.

So if you are a mountain lover, combined with an adventurous spirit, then you might have just found the perfect spot for you : Interlaken, in Switzerland.

What can be greater to get up close to the Swiss Alps ? You can jump overlooking the glaciers, with the best views of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The 3 titans of this area.

↠ Mount Everest, Nepal

After the Swiss Alps, let us take you to another mountain paradise : The Himalayas.

This chain of impressive mountains attracts the most adventurous hikers and climbers of the globe. Provider of sensational adventures, skydiving is probably the most thrilling of all.

What can be possibly a more emblematic skydiving spot that the world’s highest peak ? Located in the Mahalangur Himal (eastern Nepal), the Mount Everest raises at 8848 meters above the sea level.

However, this spot is considered as an extreme experience, therefore advised for people that already experienced few jumps. Not only you will get the traditional sensations of a jump from an airplane, but you will also have to deal with the altitude and the decrease of oxygen level.

↠ Byron Bay, Australia

This one is Pedro’s experience. He’s done it in a beautiful part of Australia, along the east coast, in the charming city of Byron Bay. He went with Skydive Byron Bay and he loved it.

It’s renowned for being a beautiful surfing and scuba diving spot, but it’s worth being discovered from above as well.

The shape of its coast it’s absolutely gorgeous, as you are flying you can admire the vivid greens from Cape Byron State Conservation Park, contrasted with the intense blue of the Pacific ocean. Truly astonishing.

What about guys ? Did you ever try skydiving ?
